About Clad To Help
I'm Scott. I created Clad To Help as a unique offering from a leaseholder, RMC director, chartered civil engineer and project management professional. I successfully secured a £13m Building Safety Fund grant for my own building and home. My mission is to provide strategic advice, guidance and solutions to leaseholders and RMC/RTM Directors whose only current source of information is piecemeal advice on social media pages that completely underestimates the complexity and hurdles involved.

My own cladding journey began in July 2020 when our EWS1 Form returned a B2 rating. My apartment building was wrapped in flammable rendered EPS, timber cladding, Grenfell type insulation behind brick, and had missing or poorly installed fire-stopping and cavity barriers as well as timber-decked balconies. My home was considered worthless. Then came the financial misery of imposed waking watches and insurance premium hikes. Like you, I felt angry, sick, trapped and helpless. Then I realised I could apply my professional skills to take control and bring hope to a hopeless situation.

A successful project always requires a driving force on the client side of the project to make key decisions and manage project risks. As an RMC Director I could direct the project, rather than rely on a Managing Agent who lacked expertise in complex project delivery. I knew that five months to complete the planning, outline design and costing work required for the original 31st December 2020 BSF submission deadline would be tight and would require disciplined management. Any delays would prolong the interim costs. Months of hard work later, the submission deadline was hit. Further months of negotiations with Homes England followed as well successful appeal on additional wall systems, legal work and logistical planning, leading to a start on site.
